Baptisms

Artistic drawing of ministers with babyChristian Baptism, (Christening), is the threshold of membership of the world-wide Church, with water, in the name of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Today, most Christian churches recognise baptisms conducted in different traditions. We welcome good relations with other churches, and our members have a variety of backgrounds.

Baptism can take place only once, but at any age, and many families choose to ask for Baptism whilst children are very young. Please come and talk to the church if you or a friend or relative has reached this point. We want to find the best way for you.

We also offer services of Thanksgiving, Dedication and Blessing, which respond to our gratitude and delight in our children, leaving Baptsim until they are fully aware of what it means. This is not a second-best, but a valid path. Baptising a child

Our ministers chose this for their own children, one of whom has recently Baptised at age 6. She has a Church Friend, (one of our elders) and took a full part in the ceremony herself.
